In La Lágrima, a desertic mining lost town, women live under the strict rules of patriarchy. Dina (16), pressed by an unwanted pregnancy, plans to escape. But when she finds out her sister Sariri (11), has to initiate womanhood after the arrival of her menarche, she’ll have to decide if they’ll escape together through the desert.

Laura DONOSO a étudié le cinéma à l’Université du Développement au Chili. Pendant ses études, elle a travaillé sur des courts-métrages étudiants. Elle est réalisatrice et coscénariste de Sariri, son projet universitaire final, devenu son premier film.

Production notes
Sariri is my first feature film as a producer and it has been an experience full of value on a professional and personal level. By representing a transversal reality, we gave great value to collaborative work. We had the opportunity to work with people who, without knowing the audiovisual field, contributed in a profound way to what we seek to represent. Sariri is the culmination of a collective effort and I hope it can affect the viewer as it did me.
