Jimena travels to Río Grande, on the island of Tierra del Fuego in southernmost Argentina, to join her half-brother Mariano. She has almost no money to travel but manages to arrive there hoping to have a better life in that manufacturing region. The wind, the cold and the complex economic crisis form the background against in which Jimena will develop empathy for the people around her and a feeling of belonging there, but also a place where she will learn to know herself better.

Micaela GONZALO (1987, Buenos Aires, Argentine) a étudié la réalisation de films au Centro de Investigación y Experimentación en Video y Cine. Son court-métrage Toda mi alegría a été présenté en février 2018 à la Berlinale. En 2017, elle a reçu le prix Ópera Prima avec La chica nueva, ainsi que le premier prix d’écriture de scénario du Fondo Nacional de las Artes et du fonds Ibermedia.

Production notes
El Ojo Extraviado cine was founded at the end of 2018 by Eva Lauria who dates back many years of experience in cinema and TV production. In 2017 she produced The Bride of the Desert whose world premiere was held at the 70th Festival de Cannes in the Un Certain Regard section. This marked the beginning of the idea of continuing to produce autonomously. EOE cine is currently working on two feature films, one in post-production and one in development. Always betting on new talents in the region.
