Sofía Quirós Ubeda

Sofía Quirós Ubeda est née en 1989. Son premier long-métrage Ceniza negra, a été sélectionné au Next Step (Torino Film Lab + Semaine de la Critique), au 3 Puertos Cine, au Lobo Lab et a été soutenu par l’Aide aux Cinémas du Monde, le Programme Ibermedia, le World Cinema Fund et le Tribeca Latin American Fund entre autres. Son dernier court-métrage Selva était en compétition de la Semaine de la Critique 2017. Depuis il a été projeté dans plus de vingt villes du monde entier et a reçu des prix à Biarritz, Guanajuato et Buenos Aires, entre autres.

Production notes

Sputnik Films was founded in 2011. The Sound of Things premiered at the Main Competition of the 38th Moscow International Film Festival and received the Kommersant Weekend Prize. It was Costa Rica’s Official Submission for the 2018 Academy Awards. Land of Ashes, by newcomer Sofía Quirós, is currently in post-production. It is expected to premiere in 2019.
