MARETAZO CINE was founded by Daniel Vega and Diego Vega. Their first feature film, Octubre, was the winner of the Jury Award in the Official Selection Un Certain Regard (Cannes 2010). It has received several awards,such as Best Film (Mar del Plata), Best Screenplay (Lima festival), the Young Critics Award (Mumbai Film Festival), Best Director (Cartagena). It was released in movie theatres in Peru, Germany, Switzerland, France, USA, Mexico, Canada, Brazil and Venezuela. El Mudo is their second feature film.
