Thousands of kilometres south of Buenos Aires, three people make their way along the lonely roads of Austral Patagonia. Don Justo (80), the retired owner of general store now run by his son. Roberto (40), a travelling salesman and María Flores (25) with her young daughter. Each one travles alone. But, as is common on the deserted Patagonian roads, their stories and their dreams run into one another.

Réalisateur de publicité. Son premier film était La película del Rey (le film du roi), en 1986, qui a reçu le Lion d’argent du festival de Venise et le Goya au meilleur film étranger. En 1989, il a réalisé Eternas sonrisas de New Jersey. Historias mínimas est son troisième film.
