Asalto al cine

Asalto al cine tells the tale of four youth youngsters: Negus, Chale, Sapo and Chata. Friends since childhood, the teenagers come from a block of floats in Mexico’s Guerrero colony and have too much time on their hands. They start toying with the idea of robbing a cinema. Each has a different problem and finds his own reason to go ahead with the heist. The adventure brings them into a head-on-clash with their lives and threatens the only thing they have: their friendship.

Iria Gómez Concheiro

Après ses études à l’École Active de Photographie et à l’UNAM (la Littérature Dramatique et le Théâtre), Iria est admise en 1999 au CCC. En 2006 elle se spécialise en direction de la photographie à Rome (Italie) à l’école de Vittorio Storato. Puis, avec sa Maison de Production Ciudad Cinema, elle a produit des films au Mexique et à l’étranger. Son court métrage Dime lo que sientes, obtient la reconnaissance nationale et internationale ainsi que de nombreux Prix (à e.a. Toulouse, Vladivostok et Ismaylia) ainsi que l’Ariel du meilleur court-métrage décerné par l’Académie Mexicaine de Cinématographie. Son long-métrage documentaire La Changa est diffusé en 2008 et fut très favorablement accueilli dans les festivals.

Ciudad Cinema is a multidisciplinary company which develops film, television, radio and cultural promotion programmes born from a group of youngsters brought together by their shared love of cities and street art. They have made productions in Italy, Colombia and Mexico. Mil Nubes-Cine is committed to content and forms not usually found in Mexican cinema’s innovatives productions. Their films Mil nubes de paz cercan el cielo, amor jamás acabarás de ser amor and Rabioso sol, rabioso cielo both won the Teddy Award (2003 and 2009) at Berlin Film Festival.
