Marilyn

Marcos, a seventeen years farm worker, discovers his sexuality in a hostile environment. Nicknamed Marilyn by other teenagers in town, he becomes the target both of human desire and discrimination. Marcos feels himself pushed into a corner more and more.

Martín Rodríguez Redondo (1979). Il a étudié la réalisation au CIC. Son scénario Marilyn a gagné le Prix Première œuvre à l’INCAA et l’aide à la coproduction Ibermedia. Il a été sélectionné au Forum de coproduction de San Sebastián, au Laboratoire de Scénario d’Oaxaca, à l’AUSTRALAB – FIC Valdivia et au SANFIC, Santiago Lab. Son court-métrage Las liebres a été projeté au BAFICI, au Festival de Nouveau Cinéma Latino-américain de La Havane et au BFI Flare London LGBT Film Festival et au FESAALP.

Production notes

MARAVILLACINE was created to make films in the filmmaker-as-author vein. Its current production includes the documentaries El Maitén (Carlos Echeverría), Map Of Dreams (Martín Weber), The Endless Movie (Leandro Listorti), and Here And Now (Hernán Khourian). Also, a new feature film from Pablo Reyero and Eugenio Canevari, and the INCAA’s First Feature winner Marilyn, by Martín Rodríguez Redondo. Its first released feature, Miss, is a co-production with Tresmilmundos and was included at BAFICI.
