María José is 25. Her life moves back and forth between the monotony of class at the university, her eternally distant parents and a couple of alternative spaces where she can explore her own and others’ limits. One day she meets Javier, a boy she really likes and tries to have a relationship with, but her behaviour starts changing radically. In fact she’s a few months into her pregnancy and no one knows.

Alexandra Latishev a étudié à l’Université de Cinéma et Audiovisuel Véritas au Costa Rica. Son court-métrage Irene (2014) a participé à différents festivals, parmi lesquels Kinoforum, Clermont-Ferrand, Toulouse, Alucine (Meilleure Fiction), Flanders Latino Film Festival (Mention du Jury), Havana Festival (Mention du Jury), Ícaro Festival (Meilleur Court-métrage d’Amérique Centrale) et le FICCR (Meilleur Court-métrage National). Elle a travaillé sur les films de Paz Fábrega, María T. Larrain, Neto Villalobos et Alice de Andrade. Medea est sa première réalisation de long-métrage.
