Note of intent
I’m interested in exploring the nuances of the dialogues and the body language in these relationships, conditioned by family, work, hierarchy, and economic interests. The hidden messages in the ways of expression more than their explicit content.
I want the focus to be internal in just one of the characters and his role (we only know what he sees and does) and subtly, with the pass of the scenes and situations, to change to another character and remaining internal. Trying to depict different points of view.
Also to do a research about the reason why a big portion of the middle classes supported a sector of the upper classes when the conflict around the Resolution 125 happened in Argentina on 2009. How this event strongly showed 2 opposing ideological postures in our country that haven’t showed up since the 70s.
Visual concept
The project in a very early stage. For now I can tell that the composition will be made from showing in full shots the architecture of the several places according the social class (I cite in this regard the cinema of Pedro Costa), to then get close to the characters in a more intimate way (I cite the intimate aesthetics of Lucrecia Martel)
I’m adding the main topics I want to develop in the film:
– Family roles that don’t correspond to the actual link due to economic and social conditions that exceeds its participants. A cousin who at first looks like a mother, but actually is the housemaid, a grandmother who must be a mother to his grandson because of her daughter going to work, etc.
– A naturalistic research about the mechanisms that mothers and daughters uses to keep her roles and to obtain little moments of love and affection. How a mother can hold her daughter causing her a disease and over-protecting her.
– An attempt of question about the people’s relationships, especially in the family, conditioned by the social hierarchy and status.
– A kind of middle-class influenced by the media, who seems to understand that the right is to support the upper classes. What is the purpose? Trying to simulate to belong to a social class that they can’t reach?
– The saucepan-banging demonstration as a kind of protest generally belonging to the middle and upper social classes.

- Objectives sought in Films in Development
With the project in such a early stage, the main goal is to gain visibility for potential producers who could be interested.
