Note of intent

I believe there’s something deep to tell in the pain of regular folk, who are usually rendered invisible. This film will depict, with intensity and exceptional dynamism, a story of social inequality that takes place in contemporary Santiago of Chile, where love and redemption are still possible.

Synopsis

Sad Song is the story of Leandro, a street performer, and his son, Ángel, a slaughterhouse worker. The protagonists’ journey will reflect the struggle of a family to survive with dignity after an illness, amidst an adverse social context, in the outskirts of Santiago de Chile.

Visual concept

In terms of cinematic style, Sad Song falls within an urban narrative, realistic and intimate, with a naturalistic approach to photography and camera work aimed at capturing and portraying the dramatic world of each of the characters and their different internal states. In terms of space, we will work in real locations, with natural light as the main source of light to infuse the images with reality, capturing the atmosphere that characterizes those worlds.
