Synopsis : 

The life of Rayenari changes when the poet Antonin Artaud arrives to his village seeking the spiritual knowledge of the Tarahumara. Rayenari introduces him to the Peyote ceremony. However, the poet abandons the ritual and loses his soul. Sometime later, Rayenari discovers through dreams that Artaud has been committed to a mental hospital. It will be through this connection that Rayenari will help his friend to recover what he lost.

Director's biography: 

Federico Cecchetti studied film directing at CUEC-UNAM Film School. He has participated in many international workshops such as Berlinale Talent Campus, Cinéfondation and Locarno Filmmakers Academy. Mara'akame's Dream, his first feature film, received 12 Ariel nominations and earned two: Best First Work and Original Music. It was also awarded Best First Mexican Film Prize at Morelia Film Festival in 2017.

Edher Campos is founder of Machete, has produced Leap Year (Caméra d'Or, Cannes 2010), The Golden Dream (Un Certain Talent, Cannes 2013) and I carry you with me (winner at Sundance 2020 and nominated for the Spirit Awards 2021). He also produced internationally renowned films such as X500, Tales of Mexico and Sonora, the Devil's Highway. Since 2020 he is part of the Producers Branch of the Hollywood Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
