FILMS IN PROGRESS 44

Toulouse, March 27 and 28, 2025

Registration open

Whilst chaos and the state of violence are increasing crescendo upon the international scene, stories of our time are brought to the cinema by authors whose singularity expresses itself in staging, poetry, authenticity, emotion, imaginary, are building up complex and diverse worlds full of surprises and discoveries.

Films in Progress 44 will take place on March 27 and 28 of 2025, during the activities of Cinélatino, rencontres de Toulouse’s professional platform. This pioneer accompaniment dispositive for Latin-American movies at the stage of post-production convene cinema professionals able to intervene in the finalization and promotion of the selected movies.

Films in Progress sends these films on the international scene in order to ease their journey and their broadcast, and make the meeting and cooperation happen between directors and productors carrying projects, and the accredited professionals. Films in Progress acts as a launching pad for movies to come out of their screens and find their public, participating in the battle for exception and cultural diversity; especially useful when culture is left to be an adjustable variable for austere and authoritarian politics.

Since its beggining in 2002, in 43 sessions, 238 movies have been presented to a loyal and diligent professional public. Once finalized, many of these movies were selected in prestigious international festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Venise, San Sebastián, Sundance, Locarno, Rotterdam.

Films in Progress, more than ever, claims the solidarity values and the founding challenges of this rendez-vous you can’t miss with the Latin-American cinema and the emerging talents carrying their new vision.

The selection of the six movies selected will be done by the comitee from Toulouse. This year, the call for entries will be limited to fiction feature films, hybrid, and animation movies.
