The French Embassy in Argentina, UNCIPAR, with the support of the Festival Cinélatino, Rencontres de Toulouse and of the Alliance Française of Buenos Aires have been holding the Georges Méliès short film contest for thirty-five years, with the aim of supporting and promoting young talents of film from Argentina, Chili, Uruguay, and Paraguay and promoting the production and the broadcasting of movies with strong cultural identity. With over 1700 movies submitted in its various editions, it has become a real source of inspiration for future filmmakers.
In 2022, three laureates of the Georges Méliès competition are invited to the activities of the professional platform. The professionals will be able to meet them during one-to-one meetings to learn more about their current projects.
