20 years Films in Progress

FILMS IN PROGRESS: 20 YEARS OF DISCOVERING NEW TALENTS

French | Español

Films in Progress celebrates its 20th anniversary, it represents 226 projects carried by their author and producer who have experienced this journey. Many are the ones that began their career in the well known festivals leading to the cinemas where they found their audience thanks to many distributions around the world. The list of talents confirmed that way by their previous movies is long.

The assessment that we can make about Films in Progress is that it is a real list of triumphs which makes it a reference and the method was replicated in many other cinematographic events. The participation and intervention of professionals from the French, European and International cinema is on the rise, since the pandemic, thanks to the online versions. For its part, the demand for Latin American creators is confirmed and grows every year.

As part of its 34th edition, Cinélatino, Rencontres de Toulouse, is proposing several meetings to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this flagship event.

International Symposium : Festivals and trans(national) cinematic dynamics : forms of production, circulation and representation

This conference's purpose is to create an exchange space between researchers from diverse locations and study fields and professionals from the cinema sector (productors, festival programmers, institution's leaders and directors). Rencontres de Toulouse is organized through the Cinélatino festival's professional platform, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The conference is associated with The Muestra films's programmation and is putting together two pannel discussions with professionals and a workshop with two filmmakers.
