For 22 years, Cinéma en Construction has been arousing the curiosity and sensitivity of professionals, helping them to finalise their films and propelling them onto the international film scene. The selection for this 43rd edition will undoubtedly confirm the success of previous editions.
There has been a marked increase in participation, with 301 projects applying this year, including many quality films that require long, passionate and rigorous deliberation before being shortlisted to 6.
Jepotá, Querido Trópico and Vainilla are first films, Horizontes is the 2nd film by César Augusto Acevedo, Isla Negra is the 3rd film by Jorge Riquelme and Filhos do Mangue, the 4th by Eliane Caffé.
The diversity of the countries, of the thematic, narrative, artistic and aesthetic choices is there to establish a dialogue between the filmmakers and you, the film professionals, whose appetite remains undiminished and whose loyalty to this event in Toulouse proves itself every year in promoting this Latin American creative energy.
Supporting these new talents, in all the fragility of a work in progress, and helping them on their way, is the vocation we share with you, the film professionals who are loyal to this event in Toulouse.
The prizes awarded for their post-production, promotion, distribution and broadcasting, and your involvement and contribution, are all assets at the service of the creators of the other America.
Together, let's continue to share our passion for cinema with our audiences.
We will meet again on 21st and 22nd March in Toulouse for a new edition of Films in progress 43!
